@CarNikolaj These 'standing locks' are not intended to be locks in most situations. It's well understood that an opponent will likely find a way out of them if you try to hold them there. You'll notice that in all of these locks there is an opportunity for some sort of dislocation or joint destruction. That is the intent, from a self-defense standpoint. This is just a slow, technical illustration of it.
lol...wishful thinking, dare i say? ;-) You find out that a technique is "real" only by the fact that it constantly works against resisting opponents - not that somebody's fingers in some video turn red :-D
Frankly, this is the type of techniques that only works against a non-trained, possibly non-coordinated opponents. Not that there is anything wrong with it.
the reason why you don't see standing locks in "ufc" - and in fact, in any non-rehearsed context - is that standing locks are damn hard to execute, and even harder to hold locked.
that's why locks are done on the ground in MMA. In fact, they even do wrist locks - but in groundfighting only.
uhm.is this man teaching us how to do these moves or how to turn fingers red :D?

Thanks, we really care what all the MMA sheep thought.
MMA is a sport. I respect it as a sport, but Troy's videos are good. There is no basis for comparison.
