My favorite lens. I've had it since it came out. Great portrait length too, don't forget. (1.6x60=96) razor sharp, great color and contrast.

@newbeetledriverneeds have a better focus ring. ( i tried the feel of the kit lens it feels like scraping two cardboard tubes together) Looking for one that will reduce the noise given by the kit lens the Canon 18-135mm lens like how much it can zoom but its not sharp enough i'm looking for something that can improve the quality of the image and hopefully reduce the jello effect you get with CMOS sensors. I might not find all of this in one lens but i would settle for the noise reduction
I got a t3i and I'm considering getting this. Is the lack of image stabilization a killer?

@newbeetledriver well. How bad is it hand held in not super bright day light. what feels like a safe shutter speed for the IS not to matter.

so i was considering buying the 60d with this macro lens can anyone recommend a standard lens because I heard the kit lens sucks.
