OK, I apologize. You aren't an idiot. But Germany was not a threat at that moment, although the 'OFFICIAL' reason was to watch things get back to normal. The Real reason was the USSR, of course. We almost got into a war with them on several occasions.

I am happy that Germany is finding itself again. They have come a long way. I dont believe it will come to totalitarianism. I love the Germans , as much as I love the peoples of Britain. 99% of Americans want the US out of Europe. They serve no purpose. The next war will be a civil war within all of Europe, against the islamic hourde, and will be one that NATO will not be able to control. Hopefully, this time at least, the US will be on the right side.

@foamulator: But you know that the NATO was devised for three things: To keep the Germans down, the Russian out and the Americans in; besides: The NATO is no more in Europe for the USA than the Corinthian League was for Macedonia in Greece; so no avail to your sophistry. If Germany has any statesmen left she will take the advantage of that American folly and make return as a great power by rearming herself, including nuclear weapons. So goodbye to demilitarisation.

Dear me! Stupidity should be henceforth measured in Americans! They are so stupid that they do not even see that their forces stationed in Germany and Japan are not for protection but for occupation; once the Americans pull their forces out the Germans will dispatch their foul minions, which they have installed their after they deposed the motorway rule to do their bidding; and then Germany and Japan will stop trading with the USA anymore as the Dollar is worthless.
