MATERIAL: Six Stranded Embroidery Floss (DMC BRAND) & Liquid Laundry Starch

(Some people use glue in place of liquid laundry starch. I have never tried it so I have no opinion on how it will come out. You are welcome to try it and report back with the results.)

INSTRUCTIONS:

This is a cute way to recycle all of those pieces of embroidery floss you just don't know what to do with!

You will need: Leftover embroidery floss, some fabric starch and balloons.
(I used water bomb water balloons since they are perfectly round and small.)

Gloves are optional, but I'd recommend them if you are not 100% sure
of what is in the starch solution and/or how safe (or harmful) it may be!

So, gather your supplies and start saturating your string in the liquid starch-
wrap the sopping strings around the balloon then wait a full 24 hours for it to dry.

NOTE: You may need to turn your project over or move it slightly since the starch will
start to form a pool underneath it (which will keep the bottom from drying!)

IMPORTANT!!!! Make sure that the strings are 100% dry before you pop the balloon!

After waiting the long 24 hours for the strings to dry out and set up with starch
you will finally get to pop the balloon and get to enjoy your new decoration!

TIP: If you are having trouble getting the balloon out try "grabbing" it gently with a pair of scissors-
it will help pull the balloon out of the edge so you can pick it out easier!

DECO-CREATIVE IDEAS:

☼ Hang them somewhere in your room
☼ Stick them in a bowl
☼ Make a Mobile with them
☼ Use them as tree decorations - Pastels for an easter tree - Black, yellow and orange for a fall tree - Red and Green for a Christmas tree - Red and Pink for a Valentine tree

BONUS IDEA: Try making decorative balls using thinly cut strips of fabric!
