From DirecTV's broadcast of Farm Aid 25: Growing Hope for America, Farm Aid Board Member Dave Matthews performs "All Along the Watchtower" with Tim Reynolds at Miller Park in Milwaukee on October 2, 2010. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help — what can you do?

  • YOU´ll never know, how much I loved it to listen to this great band, @ this special place.... with u all the evening!!!

  • I love the feeling behind Dave Matthews all his songs are amazing. And this is an amazing cover to a great song

  • This crowd sucks

  • His Martin sounds 1000x better.............

Ok, to be more realistic, 100x better.

  • 139 likes and 2 douche bags

  • First of all why are we even comparing Dave to these other musicians? Dave is his own artist. He is great at what he does just like Phil Collins is great at what he does. Let it be. Enjoy the music

  • Dave's singing range is what's amazing. He's a rhythm guitar player. I don't know what you want from him. Tim's the one to compare to Hendrix here. Dave's singing+tim's guitar playing- hendrix

  • @Gooberhead1956 Ok, Jimi Hedrix played the song with three chords, the same as Dave. I don't know why that bothers you, but deal with it. I am perfectly aware that Dave isn't on par with most of the guitar players you mentioned, many of whom I admire (you forgot Tony Rice, Andy Mckee, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Zakk Wylde, Duane Allman, Pat Flynn, Clay Hess, etc). But Dave comes up with some really creative riffs, and they are hard to play. So yes, I think thats amazing.

  • @TheBibleWitness

But Jimi Hendrix and Dave Mason didn't play the song in a simple fashion......Dave Matthews guitar playing is far from "amazing".......c'mon.......Michael Hedges is "amazing"........Steve Vai is amazing.......Satriani is "amazing"......Petrucci.......Leo Kottke, Dan Fogelberg, David Grier, Bryan Sutton,Richard Thompson, John Fahey, Tommy Immanuel,Phil Keaggy, Chet Atkins........you people are so far off as to what consitutes talent it is freaking me out.......wtf

  • @Gooberhead1956 Dave's singing is pitchy sometimes and he is no Phil Collins, but his guitar is amazing. Try playing Ants Marching or #41 sometime. And as far as this song being simple, you'd better talk to Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix about it, because they thought it was an okay song.
