  • Wow where is it now I want it .

  • @stevenv8steven

Thats what a Allison starter sounds like. It winds up the flywheel then engages it to start the engine.

  • The original owner of the car was from Michigan and the car was HIT BY A TRAIN, which removed most of the rear end of the car. He was a engineer, so he bought the Allison engine and fabbed up the frame to make it fit in the Opel.

When the guy from WA bought the car, he actually got it licensed for the street and he used it in parades.

  • For some answers to the questions here (and comments).....At the time I took this vid, it had sat for at least a year. It had old gas in it and the batteries weren't fully charged. He did show us a VHS tape of it at a local airstrip and it was running quite well up and down the taxi way. He said he reached a speed of 60mph....in 1st gear.

  • Like it says, that's a Opel GT that's been stretched and modified to have a Allison V-12 V-1710 aircraft engine installed behind the driver. That's 1325 horse power baby! This car was for sale on Ebay back in 2003, I dont remember what it went for though, as you can see it's kind of rough and needs some work. And yes, it's plain Fugly, no argument here.

  • @CJWULF777 You're right. I'm a classless troglodyte, and getting into arguments with people on youtube is the definition of productive, intelligent, erudite and gentlemanly behavior. Ignoring the root disagreement and resorting to personal attacks are also fantastic ways to distract when the essence of an argument has been lost - this is the essence of mature and respectable behavior. Please, don't exert your godlike intellect on a such a petty, silly person as I.

  • Its sounds Hungry. Feed it a Prius.

  • this is pretty damn cool, sucks it disappeared to some random ebayer and never see it again =/

  • @alna1287 The only thing odd here is your lack of class. Or is class something that only bored you in school?

  • @CJWULF777: The car was totalled in an accident with a train. Even if it never was, we're no talking about a prewar Alfa or a vintage Molsheim-era Bugatti here, it's a mass-produced and rather agricultural Opel - get real. He then proceeded to graft in a giant, complex, 2,000 LB, WWII-era 12 cylinder - if you can't find the magic in that you're either not into cars for the correct reasons or have no appreciation for engineering and fabrication skill. What is the "gangsta" comment for? Odd.

  • @alna 1287 Now there is an intelligent remark! I must agree with190mark's comment the Opel Gt is a collectible car and valued for numerous reasons you are obviously to stupid, young and just "E" gangsta immature to understand. Pull your head out and grow up alna1287.

  • @190Mark You're an asshole. He took a boring, slow, mechanically uninteresting car and put in a giant WWII complex monster of an engine. Do you have any idea the amount of engineering and fabricating skill this took?
