@SuperLilale You're definitely ignorant, and how do you know what his Ethiopian neighbor meant to say?

(conitue) to work. We were NEVER meant to be freed. So we do not know our Afican culture. It was stripped and lost. We have a lost identity.....seperated by generations and generations of enslavement. Being in the Americas have NOT been easy for us. In the 60's and 70"s we tried to regain that love of being Africans...but our Native Africans have always rejected us...so there is the sepreation. And the sad part about it...it will always be there. :(
-
Wow...I wasn't raised to hate anyone. People of African decent are all over the America's and West Indies. So culturally we are different. But really, the whites categorize us as BLACK...all of us. Weather we are American decendents of slaves who were shipped to US to WI to Argentina or the native Africans. African Americans were STRIPPED of our culture. Native Africans...do you really think they let us have our culture as slaves???? HELL NO, we were slaves. (continue...)

The issue of racial identity is a long and complex one in Ethiopia. While I consider myself black I feel uncomfortable with people feeling the need to kirk out an ethiopian person who feels otherwise when they really know nothing about that history & are thinking of race in the very narrow way that americans see it. Either way, it was wrong & racist of her to say that.
But having so many "ethiopian neighbor" videos... not a good look either. You could just call them my "crazy neighbor".

if you are Ethiopian or from Ethiopia and you think you aren't black you must be an idiot. Ethiopians are 100% black
-
Lol, it's not really self-hate 'cause she doesn't identify as black. Anyway, ignore her. I'm Ethiopian and I identify as black. She probably meant black as in African American (which doesn't make it OK, but if she's an immigrant she won't really identify with the American side of that culture.)
-
What your Ethiopian neighbour meant when she said black is not the color of the skin but the way black American are.
I do not like to do business or associate with black Americans as well.
And i am African.
