  • where is the pcv valve on a 2001 mitsubishi montero sport LS 3.0L V6??

  • @ANGEL900625

Probably located on the valve cover, but if you are unsure the best way to find out is to look

in a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual. Available at an autoparts store. Or try posting your

question on one of the Montero forums. Try mitsubishiforum(dot)com

    good luck!! Ben

  • Question...I did this to my t-bird. It had a fine valve but i didnt know how old it was so i replaced it with a new one and the new one made it idle bad and it almost stalls when you shift into drive or reverse or when im at a light. So i put the old valve back in but it still idles badley. What went wrong??

  • Check to be sure you didn't unplug any other hoses. You may have inadvertently disconnected a vacuum hose. Or check the hose leading to/from your PCV. Is it cracked?

If your check engine light is on, have it diagnosed at a AutoParts store, ask for a OBD system read on your engine light. They'll do it for free with a handheld computer and potentially uncover your issue. Good Luck! - Ben

  • @Phalanx96 lol

  • is there a pcv valve on disel engines?

  • Do new cars have these?

  • i have the same car and i bought the pcv valve at ADVANCED for $2 brand new. my hose was still good so i only paid $2 lol.

  • @DytimeTVshow i have the same car and i changed the valve yesterday and it takes off faster/smoother. THANKS.

  • My catch can has a check valve in it that eliminates the PCV valve. It will never fail because the valve is after the tank catches all the sludge. For $75 shipped to your door, it pays for itself very quickly. Huge side benefit of this system is if you decide to turbo charge your motor, the check valve design will keep the case from over pressurizing. email me at brianrlawlor@yahoo.com for more info

  • Nice video. I havent read all the comments to see if this has been covered already, but the hose is getting destroyed from the blow by gasses and oil the valve cover allows to go thru. The baffling inside the valve cover on most vehicles is poorly designed and allows this sludge to gum up the PCV which makes it fail. This oil and other crud is also entering the intake manifold and reducing the octane of the fuel. Carbon build up on the valve seats and spark plugs result in economy issues.

  • Great stuff, gonna change mine. Thanks
