If you want to see an excellent video of when he ties the Bowline around his self put: "How to tie a One-Handed Bowline" in the search engine. Great for emergency rescues with no help around. Great if you do alot of hiking.

@jacobreedijk: I agree. I learned this knot around 10 years old. I did not have a key and ignition. But, I did watch the rabbit go through the hole, around the tree and back through the hole. I just tried to tie it like this video and I had to have the wife come untie my fingers so I could post this comment. Bottom line: It's another "Expertvillage" how to NOT tie.
The camera work could be better and the background is distracting. Too much clutter.
I have taught this knot a lot and agree that this is the best way of tying it.
However everyone has problems with the 'key in the ignition' (a nice way to describe it) bit and this doesn't explain it well enough.
Once you 'get' it this is a foolproof way to tie bowline but I suspect that a lot of people will be struggling to see how you are doing this.
