That is so great Burt. God bless you sir. You are the king of music in my opinion.

I've always had a dream that one day the father of lyric would team up with the voice of life Annie Lennox. I imagine her doing one or two of his classic songs, and him reworking one or two of her classic songs--and then the rest of the project would be all new material written exclusively for Annie.

The result would be one word... Wow.

One can only wish.

I'm 54 and grew up with Burt and Hal's music - I can totally dig what the older people felt.  I miss great music and lyrics like this on the radio. Thanks Iv6 for your comments and thanks, Beebooneeboo for posting.

Burt Bacharach es uno de los grandes músicos del siglo XX y tambien del XXI. Lo admiro tanto a el como a sus grandes socios como Hal David o Elvis Costello. Me han regalado de los mejores momentos de mi vida. Siempre los recordaré.

I'm 24 and just sang this classic a few nights ago during karaoke night at the Excalibur hotel in Vegas. You could see the joy and happiness on mostly the "older" looking people in the crowd. One couple actually got up as I was singing and started slow dancing right in front of the stage. It was awesome. Most were doing more up tempo songs but I felt the need to bring it down a notch. After the song ended I said, "That's Burt Bacharach and Hal David." I had to pay respects. Haha, it was cool.
