@nielsdejong no you arent right when turks controlled jeruzalem, there was peace beteren both religoen but christen papa want to take land for no reasons at all and then there was war.
-
Yes and no. The Turks were the one who caused unrest in the middle east. The christians later came because they wanted both lands (as did the Muslims), but also because they wanted their followers to be able to enter Jerusalem.
However this wasn't a case of just "evil western crusaders invading Jerusalem". The Muslims invaded it too. Pretty much everyone did XD

@nielsdejong HERP DERP THE CRUSADES WERE THE MUSLIMS FAULT TOO, AMIRITE?
-
Umm... You ARE aware that the Muslims were the first ones to cause blood right? When the Turks took over there were several conflicts between the seperate Muslim groups with the christians caught in between.
Also Saladin was far from a saint in real life... Nor was Richard some sort of invading monster. Read history up first before you base your viewpoints on the media.

@Bardok513 Yes a horde of zealous religious freaks invading your homeland counts as evil invaders not brave soliders.

Neither side was 100% in the right, but that's war. Anyone who treats it like a black and white kind of event is poorly mistaken. The aggressors aren't always just 'bad guys', even if they do many bad things. Wars usually have more than just greed attached to them. Usually paranoia is among the reasons for the aggressors. That said, I liked both Saladin and Richard. Saladin said of Richard: "I have long since been aware that your king is a man of the greatest honor and bravery though imprudent,"

@Bardok513 "westerner", welcome to the real world ;)

@639Ludacris killing them who broke the peace and came back attacking drunk and rapping and killing all innocent muslim women and children !!!

@legend4ya Hell Ya! He was a Great Man! He thought for justice and against invasion! He built public hospitals and also universities and he would always try to spare the lives of crusauders! He would demand surrender of a fort before just killing everyone there!
I feel sad thinking about what the muslim Ummah has become now...

This is so trippy for a westerner to watch.
It's so strange seeing our stereotypes of valiance and bravery be portrayed as stereotypes of evil invaders.
Like, I see the shining armor with the red cross and I think "oh cool, the good guys." but the music tells me they're the antagonists.
Subconscious confusion FTW!
