I really don't think it's fair to say that this is a bad game if you *obviously* don't know how to use it.

Goto Virtual Atari . org and click section B it has this cartridge. I can't really type anything in but it has the manual on the Game Info tab at the bottom. It shows you how to play sounds, move two dots and check collision. If you can get those samples to work let me know. I'd like to see them.

Was this the code for modern warfare?

This has a major flaw.
When you want a beginner (and only absolute amateurs would want to learn BASIC using an Atari 2600) to really get an interest in it you have to teach it in a way where he can actually produce satisfying results. Something he finds cool that makes him want to go on.
I highly doubt that is possible with this. Basically you would go through the tedious procedure of trying to program in order to achieve... nothing that would remotely make you think it was worth the effort.

I remember having this ... I had learned basic on my Commodore Vic20 ... But I couldn't make this piece of shit do ANYTHING. I couldn't even get it to print my nmae on the screen lol. Also, it took forever to type stuff in with those keyboard controllers..

I get the same problem on this in Atari Greatest Hits for DS. HOW DO I GET OUT OF STACK?
-
In fact I'm fascinated by this relic. I'm printing out the user manual just so I can study it further.

I used to be rather intrigued by this. This is the first time I've seen it in action though.
From the catalog: "Write your own program! Want to learn how to talk computer? Atari's "BASIC Programming" cartridge can show you how. You'll get the basics of computer language and programming. What to say. And how to say it. Pretty soon you'll be programming your computer. To print messages. Play games. Even play a tune. (I'm out of room in this message) At one time it sounded neat.

Rumor has it Atari was forced to make this game because people were making complaints that calling the Atari 2600 the Atari Video Computer System was false advertising due to the fact computers are programmable, so they released this to try and satisfy those people.

@DarkeRaven09 : E.T. IS fun, just awfully hard because of the rushed development.
And I though Soccer Manager games are boring XD

@MightyTallestZim82
Well, Soccer Manager games get nothing on this, when it comes to sheer boredom.
Lol, but seriously...I don't think cpmparing a Progam like this to Manager games is ... nice. :p
