CHAMPIX rule 4 months ago i did the exact same as you did, give up are you still quit or back on them?

Do you sing in the band too?

@cosmicinsane Ha! Mallard and piano. Made me laugh. I recently used a falling piano simile to describe the difference between chops-rich guitarists who do and don't have that essential 'feel' aspect to their playing: all the notes, just not all within seven seconds, thank you. At 46, I'm 'just starting', after messing with harp as a kid. I 'm trying to digest all I can on technique and let my ear take me from there. I'm a douchebag when it comes to doing things 'the right way'. JR ROCKS!

it's amazing how you can get all those high notes. Scary shit

Incidentally, I'm playing a Lee Oskar with no modifications (because I'm terrified I'll break it) and, although it's slow going, I've managed to get all the overblows and overdraws out apart from holes 1 and 10. Maybe you don't *have* to adjust them (but it's probably easier if you do)?

Excellent stuff -- I really liked the sample passages where you show us what you can actually *do* with the notes once you've learnt them. This is the cleanest example of an overdraw that I've come across on YouTube.

Fabulous instructions, I'II look for Rocket #9. I guess it won't be on the shelves in Australia...The smoking thing, yeah took me five goes and twelve years to stop. I reckon you could hold off for ten minutes though, just for the sake of young guys watching and looking for a role model.
Keep cookin', Max

Wow, that McDonald's straw thing worked for me! I've been trying to figure out overdraws for a year now, and I've had no luck at all. Somehow I missed this video before but I just ran across it today. Now I can get the 7 and 9 overdraw. Of course it still sounds a lot like a Mallard duck being crushed by a falling piano, but that's what my overblows sounded like last year when I first learned them. Now they're smooth. Thanks again for all your great vids, Jason.
So Jason how are you bending the blows, pushing the tongue to the teeth, saying 'eee' like Gussow described, or dropping your throat.

Jason,
Got to respect your honesty and no BS approach.
Tell people what they need, not what they want to hear.
Thanks for your contribution to the soul of blues.

just got Rocket #9 and now i have a new favorite CD. I think it's great that people are finally playing the harmonica like a horn instead of a cliched blues harp
PS. I don't like the smoking. I think u should quit
