  • Where in Australia do i have to go to see this?

  • @PICLex Well this machine is based in the north west of Western Australia in the town of Port Hedland! I do fly it between Port Hedland and Broome every couple of weeks but Port Hedland is home! All going well with the organisers, I will be flying into the centre of Perth City in WA on the 15th and 16th of October at Langley Park .... but a bit of finance support is needed for the exercise yet as there are suppose to be 100 aircraft attending.

  • @keithrussell ALL done to Langley Park and WHAT A BUZZ!!!!

  • @PICLex Okay .... you don't live in Australia! I am actually going to be doing a B1900D school in Toronto in August 2011 but I see you live somewhere around Ontario?

  • So glad to hear the engine as the music faded away. Now a lot of us know what we have to compete with. Thought that the landing was perfection.

Would say that the camera man needs a bit more practice or is he using an ordinary tripod without a fluid head. Maybe rig up some sort of gun sight with cross hairs to keep the plane centred. Also use manual focus. Looking forward to the day when we get #49 buzzing around. just as an after thought are you looking at using GoPro HD for flight shots.

  • @dave20thmay G'day Dave, I don't think the camera man had a tripod! Don't know what GoPro HD is but I did get some keychain cameras of Ebay that I have already stuck on the airframe for some internal and external shots..... I'm editing now so should have something soon. The landing, well it touched down gently but I'm still trying to get the 3 pointer perfected! I got just over 100 hours flying on this machine now but it is still a tail wheel and it can bite if I'm not ahead of the machine! :-)

  • Excellent video! Thanks for sharing. I do believe the 6cyl. sounds better than the V8. Which it should I guess when you count the exhaust pulses per prop rpm for the geared 6cyl vs. the V12. Beautiful airplane. Great to another one in the air instead of in the hanger.
