Bay Area Tibetans Celebrate a Visit from His Holiness On April 25, 2009,

On April 25, 2009, Bay Area Tibetans gathered with joy for an audience from His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the Berkeley Community Center. After being greeted with songs from our Tibetan children, His Holiness spoke to a crowd of 3500 Tibetans, Mongolians, Himalayan peoples and Americans, heartening the crowd by pointing out that even after 50 years in exile, "the Tibetan spirit has NEVER died out." His message, as always, focused on the importance of education for our children, and on non-violence and compassion, noting that "violence is the path of weakness."
