All the rhythms that are the foundation of salsa are African. Castro refers to Cuba as an Afro-latin island. 11million enslaved Africans were originally taken from Africa during the slave trade, Only 500,000 came to the US. 10.5 million were shipped to Latin America & the people in this video are their descendants.
