This is the music Shorty was talking bout named 'SOKAH', this is the Indian and African beat Shorty came up with and not the Soul music and Calypso music we are giving him phrase for. In 1973 he had his biggest hit called 'Indrani' but in 1974 Shorty failed to impress us with this beat on his album 'Love Man'. Shorty recorded his entire album (all 10 tracks) with this beat. The following year he began to claim the Soul/Calypso music with his 'Endless Vibration' album. Please do the research!
