Why would someone do this? It's like doing a traditional Shakespeare play and changing the dialogue!

Maybe if an avant garde artist was intrigued with the story and wanted to reinterpret it in another language or another style of music (e.g. rock opera) might this be considered. This doesn't work for me -- no value add.
