It's about origin. She's singing about the earth, and nature all around us, the things that we started with, where we came from. When she talks about the heartlines on your hand, she means you have to trust the feeling that your blood gives you, and you have to take the step forward because no-one else will do that for you. But it in order to do that, you're going to need trust and bravery. That's why she's telling us that she knows we can. It's what our ancestors did and we must do the same.

Well sometimes it's just that simple. And that's why music is such an incredible form of communication. It can take the cheesiest or most primitive of concepts and translate them into things that break your heart, move your soul, anger you, inspire you, save you...and all it really translates to in the end is a couple words.
