SkillsUSA Nationals 3rd Place Animation 2010

I competed this year with my partner David Chatman, and we took third place at the SkillsUSA National Conference for 3d Animation and Visualization. We had 8 hours to complete it. The theme was a choice of 3 things, a superhero's room in the year 2050, A mad scientist with a time machine, and some spy thing. we chose the mad scientist.

We had to tell a story about something that happened in the room, or is going to happen, without a character. Not so easy but still fun.

This was rendered in mentalRay. Surprisingly.

2 light sources, 1 animating the intensity parameter and the second a static light with a low intensity. The boxes have their material with a full self-illumination value. Same with the buttons. And did a little of the glowing was done post production after everything was rendered and arranged.
