Another Cirrus landing from the check-out in late September 2009. Again there is only one camera on this video, but the angle is effective and there is ATC audio. This is a landing on the smaller runway at Norwood, 10 - 28. Here we're using 28 after returning from New Bedford, MA.

  • Nice vid. Your FI said you could have flared a bit more, but it looked good to these amateur eyes. The approach angle looked steep, though: is that a function of the way the camera is mounted in the cabin? Great vid.

  • @tombirkland No, I think you're right. That was a little steep. The 500 foot announcement seemed a little close in, but not by much. I don't think I brought the power back enough quickly enough. But that's just judging by the video. The camera placement in this one was a little unusual so that may have added to the steepness, but I would fly that less steeply these days.

  • Nice flying Rick. I forgot to ask in my last comment. Do you like the side stick better or the regular yoke?

  • @airplanepilot22 I like them both, but the sidestick is positioned right where your arm naturally sits and it gets the yoke out of your lap. So I like it for those reasons.

  • how do you get it to have ATC for camera? what should you do? i have GoPro HD

  • @S9297AircraftReviews You need an audio patch cable and you need a way to record it. I don't think the GoPro cameras have an audio input jack, so you'll need to get a digital recorder and then do some editing to mix the two together.

  • The Cirrus is designed to be wider I think. So my CFI and I didn't touch shoulders in the Cirrus. But in the Cessna we seemed closer. Some of the video shots make the Cirrus look a lot roomier. It is, but not by a lot.

  • How does the cabin size and roominess in the Cirrus compare to the 172?

  • What a great plane indeed! Thanks for the video.

  • What a beautiful looking cockpit, nice video!
