  • Seriously... Everyone saying you can't go beyond 90 degrees, shut up. Yes, you can. While it's not wise to go too far down, because it may cause injury to the rotator cuff, you can go slightly lower than 90 degrees for a better stretch. For this particular exercise with barbell it works. Why do you think lifters prefer dumbbell to barbell? Besides it building muscle balance it also increases your range of motion. Increased range of motion = more muscle recruitment.

  • @DreadfulControversy i dont think 90 degrees is quite good ... a little lower just a little not really under the chin but a little lower just to work 95% of the movement
