Minecraft Tutorial: Improved Enderman XP Farm (Tripwire Edition)

Since I got alot of requests for it I decided to do a tutorial for the tripwire Endermen XP farm.
It is the first bigger tutorial I recorded so I used Docm77's tutorial for the old Endermen farm as a guideline. He told me he's OK with it.

I used creative mode to spawn in resources. I just recorded everything in survival to show how to build it without flying and invincibility.

1. Pre-Build - 0:30
Used Resources - 3:39
2. Landing Pad - 4:45
3. Drop Reset - 7:44
4. Spawning - 9:32
5. Finish it! - 20:50


Needed materials:
- 25 stacks cobble (or your favourite building block)
- 16 stacks halfslabs
- 10 stacks redstone
- 9 stacks string
- 9 stacks pistons
- 2 stacks fences
- 80 tripwire hooks
- 52 vines
- 26 buttons

While building it's also usefull to have:
- around 15 stacks of a temporary block (netherrack in the video)
- around 4 stacks ladders
- some stacks torches



Size:
6W x 17L x 128H
The inside where the endermen land is 2 x 13.

The farm contians 20 layers. Each layer uses the following resources:
- 68 stone
- 30 redstone
- 26 pistons
- 26 string
- 16 halfslabs
- 4 tripwire hooks

In SMP there are two issues which can slow it down.

1. If an other player is in the end at the island endermen will spawn there instead of in the farm.

2. Bukkit. Some plugins mess around with the mobspawning and can slow down traps like this one.

You need to build the pistons and the tripwire one block lower for pigmen. But then it whould work.

It will be alot slower as long as you have spawn spaces around the farm, though.

how is the wither an animal? lol

The game trys to spawn mobs between y=0 and the topmost block in the chunk. So if the farm is not build to far up it's more likely that mobs spawn.

Other than that the farm shouldn't be over 128 block tall because mobs only spawn within 128 blocks around the player.

so it wont load the next chunk above 128. it slows down the efficiency of the farm
