This is a project that I did for my process of drawing class. Don't try this at home. There's no scaring from it, it's all faded a week later. This is probably my most 'out there' piece.

Artist Statement:
This piece is the compass to my body. I've altered my own body to make it the landscape that I want. Each dot symbolizes a place that I had to go or something that I had to do. In the past year I've had many shots and blood work done, so that's why I chose the needle to prick myself as the media choice. In addition to the dots forming a compass, they also formed the symbol for chaos. The time and miles that have passed were truly a time of chaos, but have shown me the kind of person I am. The journey is never done, and the path is constantly changing. A compass is needed.

  • i LOVE explosions in the sky.

    i love you more!

  • this is absolutely beautiful

  • well that's good. i thought you weren't out at school? I usually don't like art made by cutting or self injuring or any kind of thing like that but i think this was different and powerful but i'm not sure if it is to someone with a different cultural/societal lens. it still hurts me to watch though haha
