I don't think so because he wasn't totally without conscience. But he did act like a psychopath alot. That's whats abit shitty with this show, They should of made their mind up.
In one episode he's the most selfish evil person then in an other episode he's a genuinely good guy.

Um, no he didn't. That was the whole point. He went along with her accusation b/c he thought it was "what she needed to hear to feel whole again." Gloria later finds out that he didn't hired him. In fact, Ryan gets so mad at the guy who raped her that he later does him in. Gloria finds out she is conflicted but thankful---and she even kisses him at the end of series when Ryan's brother is executed.
