  • nice vid!!!

I bought a drum rudiment poster and dvd at

    DrumRudimentPoster.comx-minus the x :) it rocks!!!

  • I think the easiest and most effective way to prevent bleed from the hi-hat is "gate" the snare. gating is EXTREMELY helpful when recording drums. It only picks up the sound when it's "making sound"

  • Keep the snare mics off-axis side facing the hats as good as you can.

You can't "completely" remove the hats from a snare drum, and the same goes for any other mic bleed on a kit.

  • Its nice you show how to place the drum. It would really help if you show how the drum sounds after the placing the mics :/. Thanks

  • So how the heck does a guy get the high hat out of the snare mic? That is the most annoying thing I have to deal with.

  • very cool lesson- sounds like Agent Ohm scored this little gem!
