Well I think the rbmn probably takes pretty good care of their track. You have to have pretty food maintence to do those speeds on jointed rail!

They did work on it alot over the summer so it's prob in better shape then before.

Why does the NS track look higher than the R&N track and better maintained? You really notice it in that shot of the curve. Also, where 425 is running around the train is that the spot where there's a large clearing and the NS track swings away from the R&N track and back again south of the point where NS and R&N split to Hazelton and White Haven, Pittston and beyond? There's a runaround track between the NS and R&N tracks but does not connect with NS at that point? There is a connection north.

Yes the NS track is higher and better maintained. and yes the run around spot is the area you are thinking of.
