Desti-nye the science girl teaches you how to make your very own cool electroscope!

EXPLANATION-
Now you have your electroscope. Rub the ballon on your head or shirt to create a static charge. Now, see what happens when you touch the ballon to the top of the rod! The tin foil moves! This is because, as the law of attraction states, like charges repel! The electroscope is originally neutral in charge, but when you add the negatively charged static ballon, the charge transfers through the rod and into the tin foil. Since the tin foil is close together, and they have the charge of the ballon, they repel!

INSTRUCTIONS-
First, cut the old coat hanger so you have a short metal rod, heat up the end of it with a lighter, after that, stick the hot end into the top of the coffee jar. Now you have your conducting rod. Cut out an even leaf of paper, but tin foil works better. Once you cut it attach it to the bottom of the rod.

Enjoy!
