@Lightcycle Properly poured, concrete lasts much longer than that. Look up the Roman Pantheon. The dome was made of concrete in the second century AD, and up until the 20th century it was the largest unreinforced concrete structure in the world. (That title was taken by the Taft bridge in Washington DC)
@deluchka People have been recycling concrete with plastic in it for a while. Look into reinforcing fibers, if you wish. They are often made of polypropylene.
@THISNAMEOWNS Not necessarily. Plastic degrades pretty quickly when exposed to UV light, but that isn't a problem when using it as a reinforcement for concrete.
@Doggy589 As far as water permeability, that depends on your mix design. If you use Self Consolidating Concrete admixtures (SCC) you can go a long way to removing permeability from the equation. If you are just mixing cheap concrete in your backyard by hand, yeah, it's porous. If you take fine aggregate (sand) out of the mix, it's VERY porous. And weak. It's called pervious concrete, used in driveways, and you have to vacuum it to keep it porous. Otherwise it loads up with dirt.
WOW. This is more recycling propaganda that's full of lies. I'm gonna agree with THISNAMEOWNS that its likely the plastic and crap in the concrete will degrade and the whole thing will fall apart. Also we are not running out of landfields. That is just a lie. Recycling in general wastes more time, effort, energy, and money then putting it in a landfield. Also landfields can be farmed for gas to burn because of decomposition.
@Doggy589
Where did you get the facts of what you are saying?...you are an ignorant.

@Doggy589
We use plastic fibers in concrete already. We always have. Have you ever mixed concrete?

O also conrete is not air tight or water tight at all. Why would you think it is? its VERY porous.
