2:45: "There's an independent responsibility on McLean's magazine that when it is putting an issue out there for the public to allow us a reasonable opportunity to respond." This is huge claim. Is there such a responsibility? Is it a moral one, or a legal one? If a legal one, what is its basis? Do letters to the editor not fulfill any such responsibility? Does any news magazine have the responsibility to give to anyone who disagrees with any point of any article the platform to respond?
