@fashionablesixties I just saw the production in a movie theater in Madrid and he was GREAT. His voice and tone were gorgeous. He made me cry when he's asking for forgiveness... Brilliant!

@Enantiodromialist " A harpsichord the size of the Amdromeda galaxy would not be that loud" ROTFL!!!

PERFECT! I too, am looking forward to the Met production of The Enchanted Island. I'll be watching from my local Cineplex ~ ain't technology grand?

Love this countertenor. David Daniels is magnificent. His voice is the gold standard of other countertenors' which is ironic since he started his singing career as a tenor then switched to countertenor . His diction is also perfect. Can't wait to see him on the stage (again) of the Met in The Enchanted Island.

@jguar17944 yeah, the dude who is doing the continuo really sucks...that or he has a really bad instrument.

What a gorgeous tone! And so effortless looking.
Too bad he is expressionless or sad-looking so much. According to Wikipedia this is supposed to be a happy song. :P

@wingsonwater Actually, that's not what Wikipedia says. It says the song is in "praise" of a tree: "Never has there been a shade, of a plant more dear and lovely,
or more gentle." I don't think he needs to be grinning.
