The Asians are killin' it these days. Bboyin' and Poppin'/Funk Dancin'.
I always used to wonder if bboyin' came from blacks watching kung fu movies.
Back when I was poppin, we used to wear karate suits and bow after a performance. I can see Skeeter Rabbit in all their moves.

@theysayimkennyful. Well, Im just saying. Do you acknowledge your influence? Or do you think you can invent an original move by yourself without foundations. Are you OG level?? =P ... You must start from copying basics, after years practice, after you have strong foundation, then you can start to your own version, but only AFTER you master the foundation.. I think you just want to skip the foundation and imagine you can invent? xD ..Well it doesnt work. ask any True OG about that.
-
@haikousei Ok whatever..
I'm just asking do you copy people's work?
You may use it but it does not have to be the same exact thing, and abstract things such as music you cannot say OH YOU DON'T DO IT LIKE THEY DID and say its not good.. =P
I know you have to know the history in order to have the foundation and stuff because thats what started all these things, but it doesn't mean you have to copy off that all the time.. ==
Don't you get bored by repetition?

@theysayimkennyful. yes art can be connected to regions because dance comes from culture, and culture has history, if you dont know that history, you have no foundation. you are shallow.. i have talked to west coast and east coast inventors of these dances, they have been doing this dances for 40 years, how old are you? they are true experts. true lovers of funk dont ignore the foundation of funk. dont disrespect the FUNK

what is the song name?
-
@haikousei Can you say art originates from which region?
You can't say that..
What looks good looks good..
What is funky IS funky..
Doesn't have to be based from whoever found it..
-
WOW!!! that's what I called talent. Awesome!

Good Style from Acky...
Funk dance is not originate Japan, its California's culture. So we must learn another culture by careful study, studio's teacher and watch mirror. I understand why this cannot help originality, but can promote copying instead? But we have to learn base levels before higher levels. Step by step. This is Mr. Skeet's teaching. I think after the base of funk dance is properly established. Maybe there can be true originality coming out at the higher levels. It takes time :)
