Nurses Union President Debbie Forward says unless a negotiated agreement can be reached on market adjustments and extended earnings loss, or government agrees to take those two issues to binding arbitration, an overtime strike will begin on Wednesday, May 20th.

  • Maybe they'd like someone to fix their pedicures. I'll fix 'em with my teet ' ! :O)

  • Maybe they'd like things better in Cuba or South America? A hospital is not a democracy. No to mob rule.

  • (comment 2 of 2) Nurses, Don't forget the tax payers! Nurses here in Newfoundland have it made here. You all pretty well have you own home as any nurse does. If these Nurses can't handle the job here, then how are they going to handle the job in Ontario where 35 people walks in the hospital to be checked every 50 seconds.

Every 15 seconds in Ontario an ambulance is dispatched. every 72 seconds 3 ambulances are dropping people off. These statistics I read in the Toronto Sun 2 years ago.

  • Nurses like to play God. This is Newfoundland, not Ontario! Nurses here make more money then the average every day working Newfoundlander. If these nurses don't realize where their pay is coming from then they are about know. If taxes go up more because of nurses wanting more money, then I and many other average working Newfoundlanders will leave. You nurses act like your slugging 175 pound coffee bean sacks. I want more money, but I cant get it, don't forget the nurses (comment 1 of 2)

  • God I hate Unions. I have friends who work unions and they like to brag about how little work they actually do every day, yet when it comes time for negotiations they argue that they deserve to be paid so much more than anyone in the private sector. I think its time for some union busting. Lazy asses! Not just nurses all of them.

  • Question was the Nurses Union ever happy ? i can never ever remember them being happy...
