This is an episode from PM Magazine that ran on June 22, 1983 about Animal Assisted Therapy in nursing homes. The program features an interviews with Prof. Quennie B Mills and Dr. Clover Gowling. Queenie, U of I professor emerita, was responsible in many ways for the acceptance of Animal Assisted Therapy. Queenie did a lot of the initial research on animals in nursing homes at the Garwood Home which was located on the north end of Champaign near where Marketplace Shopping Center now stands. When the announcer talks about "Studies have shown...", Queenie either did or influenced those studies.
