  • SMRPG has flute and IV doesn't?

  • quantity =/= quality

  • IV is better

  • I agree with you.

  • I've never played FF IV, but I love that game's soundtrack.

I love MRPG, but I must give this one to FF IV. Much cleaner.

  • naw, for me both are the winers, i like both games too, and i think it would have been better a mario rpg 2 instead of a paper mario.

  • Yea ff4 plays the the bulk. smrpg plays the parts you cant really hear because the bulk is overpowering the background parts and beats of the theme, which most music usually does.

So is there is a difference between to two. Just have to listen to them both, youd see what I mean if u listen to it long enough.

  • The ff4 version plays the bulk of this theme while smrpg plays the background parts of this theme more than the bulk unlike ff4.

Aleast thats what I hear when I listen to the differences of the two.

  • Actually first one sounds ALOT better, and yes they are the same song BTW, just because they used different instruments, doesn't make the song different :)

  • Different composers. Yoko Shimomura, composer for SMRPG used pretty much the exact same music with little variation. Culex also makes reference to a "final fantasy" after he is beaten. Clearly they are making reference to the game. But they differ because of the composer!

  • Who is Culex? I have never seen jim in any final fantasy games

  • that was a cool little boss fight square put in there.

  • Culex looks like a monster straight out of the Final Fantasy series, haha. Makes sense the song is the same also.

  • lol, there's no way Paper Mario could carry Mario RPG's jock strap...

  • Actually, the original game rip of the SNES game has the same quality of the Disc. Youtube, with its 22k sound quality, it ruins this master piece.

If you find and download the .spc OST, you'll know what I mean.

Talking about the video, yes... FFIV is better than SMRPG... not for sound quality or the sound chip. It's about the chosen instruments. FFIV's meant to be epic.
