Captain David Pentreath DSO was my RN careers officer at school. He was the only service careers officer I had who had seen combat and was a sub specialised fighter pilot. He was a quietly inspiring individual and whilst I never achieved my school aspirations wherever I am flying in the world today I look out of the window and give thanks that I had the good fortune to have had such an insipring, kind and patient man encouraging my aspirations which perhaps out stripped my abilities!
