Boy I wasted my time on this sad video. I love the music though. ..I'd like to see the seniors in this video give up their SS and medicare, but they wont. There were like 50 people there. Big fn deal.

yes, ignore everyone that sees things differently- that way you will never have to experience that awful and dangerous thing called 'independent thought".
You love capitalism?
OK.
Can you explain how capitalism is sustainable?
That is my main beef with the system- and I have NEVER found ANYONE that can explain how this system survives for an extended period (remember- industrialization is a radically new development still- it's only about 200 years old- and look what we have done to the planet)
-
And all this in a (Progressive, Liberal , Marxist , Socialist what ever they call themselves today) town, God Bless The USA.
-
Just because they appoint Communists as advisers, read communist books, hate capitalism. Well that doesn't mean anything, and its not like this guy(tristramshandy3) isn't some burnt out hippie.... oh wait ya I seen your profile hay dude I love the Beatles and Garcia too dude. just admit you hate capitalism so we can ignore you from the get go.

richard mellon scafe and daddy bucks coors ring a bell?
what is your point? there are very rich ideologues on both sides.
I think the right is intellectually and morally bankrupt. People like Palin and Limbaugh and Levin personify this madness.
I wish you luck finding your way out of the political wilderness- try not to go the way of the Tory.

let's talk about intellectual honesty- you simply engaged in character attacks. Chomsky is the equivalent of Stalin and Mao?
What kind of UTTER nonsense is that?
Engage Chomsky's points intellectually, or admit you don't understand/have never read him.
You are embarrassing yourself.
-
it is TOTALLY intellectually honest. I'd be interested in you attempting to elaborate on that...not holding my breath.
It's important to read the constitution, the federalist papers, franklin, jefferson, etc.
It is ALSO important to read Marx, Chomsky, Rousseau, Lenin, etc.
Read BOTH sides- then make a decision. Too many of you never gave the other side an honest reading.
There are PLENTY of valid points to be made by capitalism's opponents.
J.S. Mill's great book "On Liberty" comes to mind.
Lots of you are talking about the "liberal" media. I'm here to spread a little bit of truth (something rarely heard in the right wing media bubble): our media system is CORPORATE and pushes a CORPORATE agenda.
I'll GLADLY explain to anyone interested in truth how the system works, and how the myth of liberal media cannot be sustained upon serious, honest inquiry.
Send me a message if interested- I can't operate within the confines of 500 characters for that discussion.
Take care!

You are correct that corporations do run the media, but I'll let you in a secret that the liberal, socialist, and communist elite like to keep to themselves.
You can get very rich under those systems, and have others willingly give up their freedoms if you package and market the message well enough. Or...
Simply promise to steal stuff from the "rich, middle class, others" to give to those that are not that group. Of course, that is all done for a fee, but they don't talk about that part.

the elites in our society are communist? LOL. That's cute.
Why don't you do some reading and at least rty to become educated on this topic. First, read Manufacturing Consent by Chomsky. Then read "the new media monopoly" by ben bagdikian. Anything by Amy Goodman is also excellent.
All I ask for is intellectual honesty. I have read the other side's argument- via books by goldberg and stossel.
They are a JOKE.
I've done my research. Please do yours.
That's all I ask.
:)

Twisting words... Not very intellectually honest... I did not say that all of the elite are communist. I was talking specifically about the elite in those sub groups.
Throwing Chomsky out there why not just mention Mao, Lenin, Stalin, and Pot... For my research I prefer to read the US constitution, the bill of rights, and the Federalist papers. I don't know call me a capitalist, revolutionary, or maybe just an American, but that is where my inspiration comes from.
