Troubleshooting Network connectivity issues with Windows XP

do u know when the part like this 4:45 at the top when i tick the address automaticaly i cant still access and all of my ip is 0.0.0 or somethin my win xp cant find some ip address but in my windows 7 can easily find

i got a problem when i installed xp pro to my laptop and my xp needs the ip address so i can access to the internet but i type everything like ip or suffix then i tryed to open up my browser but its not working

Can some 1 help me i cant connet to da internet nd i click diaggnose (sorry 4 da miss spelling) da problem and after it checks tat it really is connected it says tat some thing is wrong with my modem and to turn it off then on nd wait 3 minutes then click ok. But it keeps on saying da same shit!!! CAN SOMEONE PLZ!!!!! HELP ME THANX
