  • i never heard these guys before this moment. i also didn't realize they originally did the nurse who loved me.

  • Ehh bro :D

    Yep, They did it originally.

If you like APC i suggest you listen to these guys just for the lyric superiority to most other bands.

The lyricist reminds me of Maynard with the way he uses metaphors and what not.

  • I love this album! If you listen to each song individually it just seems as though hes singing about girls, balloons etc. But if you listen to the whole album you realize its about slowly becoming a drug addict, the turmoil of getting off being a drug addict, and then relapsing!

  • You got it right bro. It's a beautiful album. Perfectly done.

  • i listened to the paramore version forever, found this due to A PErfect Circle covering "The Nurse...".... and went to find the original, this is indeed quite amazing, but i have to admit I love Hayley more (Paramore is awesome all together but i meant the voice in genral)

  • paramore version sucks! im in love with this one <3

  • @mortalalien Actually it's about comparing a drug addiction (specifically Heroin) to a song stuck in your head.

  • Most people dont know, but this song is not about drugs or about a girl. It's about a song that is stuck in someone's head. :)

  • @differdange08 I think at this point most Failure fans heard of them well after they broke up.

I heard about them when I mentioned liking the APC cover of "The Nurse Who Loved Me" and a friend played the original version. That was YEARS after Failure was no more.

  • My mom introduced me to this band

and you thought your parents were cool.

  • I got this album when it came out. All of my friends that were into hip-hop and dance music at that time thought it was crap... Now, they all love it and act cool and nostalgic like they discovered it themselves... I make sure that I take any chance I can get to remind them that I saw the band play live in '96 when they toured with Darla Hood. The show had all of about 20 people in the entire audience. They hate me for that.

  • Hey, this version ends soon, and i don't like that. That's why I thumbs downed it. Please post the full version.

  • @jamesrandle46and2 Damn right you're impressed. Been listening to these guys ever since 96 and still get blown away by their stuff. I listen from everything to Peter Gabriel to Dillinger Escape Plan and these guys definately created a sound and quality of song composition that I have rarely heard in rock music since.

  • @spartakick300 The song isn't actually about anybody in particular. The songs basically him comparing heroine to a song or tune you can't get out of your head. Listen to the lyrics with that perception in your head and you'll understand what i'm talking about. The whole album fantastic planet is mostly about addiction to heroine and other opiates also.

  • Who(m) is this song about?....anybody?

  • im another guy who just heard of these guys, and im impressed.

  • This band is amazing.

This is a beyond well-written song. (lyrically and musicically)

I love this band even more cos of how unknown they are. :D

  • wow this is an amazing band, did u guys hear their song Another Space Song yet?! omg man friggin fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i just love this song at the time i was pregnant when my first kid. I was so in love iwth my kid's dad I woul blast this song. When it said

Stuck on you til the end of time.

  • Yep - these guys hit the H pretty hard in the day. Good call on the drug connection.

  • Pardon me for sound incredibly arrogant/terribly presumptuous... but if I ever become the musician I hope I have the honor to become... I would cite greg edwards and ken andrews the same way that kurt cobain cited the meat puppets and the pixies. total admiration, total inspiration.

  • Dope album I remember these guys from the 90s I'm surprised that I found this, good lookin' out man !!!!

  • Yes, yes it is.

  • Me and my friend have been listening to Failure for a while and we recently, accidentally discovered the Paramore version of this song. Not bad but it's just not the same. Best song on the album hands down!

  • that is is :)
