Pole Vault 12/03/09 First Long Run

Pole vaulting from 8 lefts with a 14' 155lb pole gripping about 13'4. My run is from 100' with a 11' take off. I think I am under jumping my potential by a mile since I can grip 13'1 on a 14' 150 from only 5 lefts, and I think I jump higher, even though I am running over 2.0m/s from the 8 left run. Maybe I'm crazy but I think 2m/s is more than a 2inch grip improvement and 5lb?

bring your momentum foward.. if you look at your plant, you are leaning back and not bringing all your speed to the plant. I do the same

looking good bro, real good. one thing that i noticed was that you don't finish the vault.  watch the pat licari video (from the summit one year, i think), he talking about starting the turn, during the extension-phase, and then a full pull-turn to complete the jump. -6P

Thanks... I really need to get my run under control so my hips don't get sucked forward like that. I see you vault for Duke, what year are you? I don't remember seeing you at the Duke meet I went to last year.
