Chapter 10
Kevins P.O.V.
I was sitting in the comfy chair in our room, texting while Joe was on his bed, surfing the internet on his Mac Book. We had just gotten back from the wake and it was 8:30 now. It was silent until all of a sudden Nick barged in and started pacing the floor between me and Joe.
Nick- I cant believe I didnt know she had a boyfriend! Why didnt she tell me? Did you guys know? Did she tell you? (Silence) guys?
Joe- huh? OhumB? (Kevin and Joe laugh)
Nick- Im being serious Joe!
Kevin- NO Nick she didnt tell us. Dont you think youre
Nick- I just dont know why she didnt tell me. I mean she told me a lot of other more personal things these past two days. Why would she choose to keep that from me?
Joe- maybe it slipped her mind? Maybe she doesnt have to tell you everything? Maybe youre going insane!
Kevin- you know, for someone who said he wasnt romantically interested in her to a certain eight year old this morning, you are really over reacting.
Joe- hmm I wonder why? (Sarcastically) I mean he doesnt like her so thats not it. (Joe and Kevin laugh)
Nick- Shut up you guys

Veronica walked in the room.
Veronica- Hey, you guys wanna
Joe-Sure! (Mumbles) anything to get out of here
Veronica- okI was going to ask if you wanted to go to Blockbuster with Olivia and me to get junk food and movies for F.A.M.N.?
Joe- Junk food? I am definitely there!
Kevin- me too! (They follow her out)
Nick- you guys! Brother in crisis here! (Pause) F.A.M.N.? (Pause) HEY WAIT UP!
At Blockbuster
Joe, Nick and I had hats and hoodies on as we walked the aisles of the store looking for junk food and movies for Food and Movie Night. Joe and Veronica were already carrying piles of soda, ice cream, candy and chips in their arms and had enlisted Nick to carry the rest. Meanwhile Olivia and I headed to the New Releases Aisle to find a movie. We searched the shelves until we found a copy of Slumdog Millionaire. I turned around and nearly knocked over a girl with light brown hair and electric blue eyes.
Kevin- oops Im sorry!
Girl- Its ok I shouldve been watching were I was going. (Olivia turns around to see who Kevins talking to)
Olivia- Cassidee?
Cassidee- Olivia! Hey, How are you and youre sister doing? Im sorry I couldnt make it. I just got off work.
Olivia- Thats ok (Kevin clears his throat) Oh um Cassidee this is Kevin, Kevin this is Cassidee. Veronica and I worked with her a t a day camp this summer.
Kevin- Nice to meet you.
Cassidee- you too. (Gives Olivia a go away look)
Olivia- Oh I think I hear Nick calling me. (Nick walks past their aisle) Nick wait up! (Runs after him)
Kevin- weird
Cassidee- yeah. So umHow do you know Olivia and Veronica?
Kevin- Oh um our parents are their guardians now.
Cassidee- oh so youre like their older brother now?
Kevin- In spirit, sure. (Chuckles)
Cassidee- (Laughs) Well I better get this ice cream home before it melts.
Kevin- Yeah that would be a disaster! (Smiles)
Cassidee- (Laughs) I like you Kevin, youre funny.
Kevin- hmm well maybe we can hang out sometime?
Cassidee- (smiles) well see. Bye Kevin
Kevin- Bye Cassidee

She turned the corner and left me alone in the aisle, smiling like a goof. Joe and Veronica came up next to me followed by Nick and Olivia.
Joe/Veronica/Nick/Olivia- OOOH! Kevins in loooove!
Kevin- am not!
Joe- uh huh
Veronica- sure youre not Kev
Olivia- we believe you
Nick- yeah. Thats the same thing he said last time he was in love.
Kevin- Ugh lets just go pay already.

After paying, we were walking towards the door when my phone rang. It was Dad.
Kevin- Hello?
Mr. J- you guys need to get home now.
Kevin- Whats wrong Dad?

We walked outside and immediately cameras started flashing brighter then fireworks on the fourth of July.
Paparazzi- Joe! Kevin! Nick! Over Here! Who are those girls? What are you doing in the suburbs?

I heard Joe mutter a curse word.
