If you are interested in the natural healing powers of plants from Peru and you are in Lima, then I would suggest going to the Minister of Health and visiting the botanical garden there. Plus they have some of the more mysterious plants such as; Ayahuasca, Coca and San Pedro cactus that are used in the traditional medical practices in Peru.

You will need to bring your passport and register your camera at the front gate for free admittance.

Then just proceed through the gate and take the sidewalk on your right.

Peru, South America has such unique natural resources that there is a movement to educate the public on the need to preserve these plants and harvest them in a sustainable manner for the future generations of Peru.

I learned some information on the coca plant visiting the botanical garden in Lima. The climate is to cold to grow the coca plant in Lima. Coca does well in the jungle type of climate. I was expecting a big plant, but there is a small one on display in the greenhouse.

Walking around the botanical garden in the heart of Lima, Peru. It felt good knowing that these plants are so important and the people of Peru are very proud of their ecosystem.

So when you visit Lima, Peru. Be sure to stop by the minister of health and visit the botanical garden.
