We're thrilled to introduce the latest and greatest from the forward-thinking minds of Portuguese developers Nexx Helmets, the XR1R helmet.

At first glance, you might be thinking this helmet looks like a lot of the other everyday sport touring helmets out there. That's because you haven't picked it up yet. The weight of this helmet is absolutely mind-blowing. Weighing between 1200-1400 grams, depending on the size and the graphics, this is second only to the Akuma Phantom as the lightest helmet we've ever carried at RevZilla.

Beyond the weight, the XR1R also features an incredibly wide and tall eyeport for exceptional peripheral view. The liner utilizes CoolMax fabric which is anti-sweat and anti-allergic, and also removable and washable. Another feature that really stuck out to us is the Ergo Padding System, which is a set of pads included with the helmet that have adhesives for easy-install to customize the fit of the helmet to your head shape. That's next-level.

  • I'm a long oval, Arai Profile type, Size Large. Can this be made to fit me? Would I go up a size and tighten the sides?

  • @AJ87Bs The XR1R is more of an intermediate oval head shape, and we wouldn't recommend that you modify it to try to work for you. Take a look at the Shark RSR2, which is an aggressive sport lid that has a longer oval head shape.

  • You guys ever put a device like that UClear HBC100 on one of these? I have a XR1R and would like to have some music on trips, but the liner seems like it isn't designed with this in mind. It also seems a little loud.

  • @geektube There is definitely ample room on each side of the helmet in the ear area; it will easily accommodate the speakers of a UClear or other device. The loudness, however, could be caused by a variety of factors, including the shape of your head vs the shape of the helmet, the shape or size of your windscreen, the riding position, vents being open or closed, etc. It's hard to say exactly why it seems loud, but we haven't heard much negative feedback about the noise. Hope this helps!

  • Nexx Xr1 its really superb.. one of the best for shure

  • Thank you so much for providing accurate reviews...I just bought the dark lens from you. Out of all the helmets I own, I finally found one that fits me really well. In addition to the largest eye portal and lightest weight so far, the liner is more plush than I had expected...it feels more like my Suomy Extremes, and older Arai RX7-RR4. However, those $600-$700 helmets do not compare when riding with this XR1R Carbon helmet, in terms of visibility and weight.

  • @crispiegee1 Thanks for the feedback Crisp. I try to help people connect the dots as quickly as I can. The S1 and R1 Schuberths will be at Revzilla in 2011. The Schuberth C3 and C3W will be offered by RevZilla within the month.
