A $200 prs beats $3000 lp, are you kidding me. As a former Lp custom player i admit they are overpriced and u pay for the name but if you are talking $3000 lp, id cut my left nut off to have adam jones silverburst. Prs are great guitars but the s.e version are pretty average, well built but the mid range washburns are awesome, well built, play and sound great, unique features and honestly priced, i am a proud washburn player

@Starscream1985 buy a paul reed smith ... they are fantastic ... they cost as much as gibson at times but when they price them like that they make it worth every penny ... even their cheaper SE line (similar to the epiphone company from gibson) are the same as the more expensive prs counterparts only with minor differences that dont change quality at all ... $200 SE beats the hell out of a $3000 les paul ... $3000 Paul reed smith and nothing compares

I have owned many Gibson guitars from the 50's 60's and 70's. They all had that beautiful Gibson sound, and many had flaws like the cheaper guitars. Some even worse. I don't buy Gibson any more. I think they are over-priced for the quality. Still a great guitar, when you can find one that is built well.

gibson is better

@gsnoorky I think that all guitars that are imported must put the country of origin on the back of the headstock now. Samick is far and away the biggest maker of guitars in the world.More than 2/3 of ALL imports are made by samick regardless of the name on the headstock at factories all over the world, Epiphone, Ibanez,Dean, the list goes on and on. They are actually very good guitars.Washburn could only dream they owned that company. I have owned a Greg Bennett Samick and it was fantastic.

@gsnoorky Yes,when I said they were a "new"company, I meant they have recently been sold to U.S. Music Corp who is doing all they can tore-build the washburn name. Washburn is a very old brand, well over 100 years. They fell on hard times appro 25 years ago and have never really recovered. It is a real shame because their quality is better than ever.

@killsing Haven't they been around for decades? They were and still are known for banjos,. I saw an old Washburn amp at a used shop--it appeared really aged--vintage. Hollow bodies, competing perhaps more directly with Gretsch than Gibson, have been around for quite a while, also. The country-type name "Washburn," hollow body appearance, banjos, and the trademark headstock likely send wrong perceptions to rock and metal players. Distorted imagination becomes real; I like the way Washburn feels.

Well, Washburn's putting out these again! So, they tried to pass off South Korean make as American some time ago: Another complaint with Washburn is that they should put all their Chinese guitars under the Lyon name and perhaps another name for Indonesian make (Samick). USA made should use the name "Washburn." It may prove hard to know where a Washburn is made--except Lyons (George Washburn Lyon).

To the Fender die hard fans. Fender, unless you are willing to drop $5000.00 or more on a Custom Shop model is horrible these days. G&L is eating their lunch and Leo(RIP) is building them as he used to before they became a dollar grubbing company. Dean USA is maybe the best USA made guitar on the market as is the DBZ guitars. Phenomenal players and great resale on them too.

I have to agree that Gibson's (non Custom shop)guitars are very lacking sometimes. Like they don't care as much about quality as they used to. I have own just about every make and model Gibby made, I still love them but these USA Washy's are easily on par or better than even the custom shop Gibsons. Still one problem though, regardless of quality, the resale on Washburns are horrible. Fifteen years ago they were caught selling Korean as USA. Never recovered since even though it is a new company
still a fender strat fan i am.
