@Futureindiestar16 You weren't to mention that song around her. She tought it was a "gimmick" (listen to Johnny Gill's latest hit). I thought her voice and the bass line in that song were a perfect match though.

I'm in my mid-twenties, and I don't really remember much about Phyllis Hyman. I know that Mary J. Blige once said that she looked up to Phyllis Hyman.
Since I've had the chance to listen to some of her songs and see her in a few interviews like this one, I think she was fabulous! Intelligent, articulate, vivacious, funny, what a loss. I wish that someone could have stopped her from taking her own life, it's so tragic. I wonder what she would think about the artists of today like Beyonce??

Man I'm 6'2" and I would not have had a problem approachin' Phyllis Hyman. Ain't nothin' intimidatin' about a tall woman to me. If anything, the height makes them even more sexy.
