Woodpecker Drumming on CCTV Camera

This Great Spotted Woodpecker has been drumming on the back of our CCTV camera at work. Seems to like the metalic sound it creates!

FYI, Woodpeckers "peck"  for food and there are always bugs n spiders in and around cameras.

Thanks but that wasn't what he was doing. He was definitely drumming to mark territory as he did it consistently for days and for 10 mins at a time.

wood peckers often peck to mark territory.

they will seek out and use metal poles, towers, antennas, etc. for the purpose.

hell, even nasa has had it's issue with peckers and big red rockets.

I love it . I think the woodpecker learn to

peck metal. Wondering if CCTV heard that!
