Turf War is a really awesome mission, probably my favourite. And yeah, you can press the triangle button to get rid of that square and move freely with Carmelita. That square is just to help you with aiming.
I don't get why the guards talk English if they're Italian and in Italy. I mean, how would they know Sly isn't Italian?
