  • @snoopygirl68 I don't have a problem with people missing the old Dorney, but Alfundo just creeps me out. lol

  • @TralfazConstruction Have a good time reading it. :)

  • @SuperFlashDriver : I have always wanted to visit Dorney Park and take pictures during the Winter when there was snow on the ground and when everything was 'at rest'. I'm going to look into the book you've mentioned.

  • @TralfazConstruction I see. I'm reading a book called Scared stiff that's about 2 boys who 1st got into a fight and then went on their own seperated ways and before that they were walking through an abandon amusement park and none of the rides were working at all. It's an interesting book and I hope I see what happens at the end.

  • @SuperFlashDriver ; I think it'd behoove them to have a museum on-site but I'm not sure how anyone under the age of 45 or so would perceive it. If my experiences at Dorney had been moved forward 40 years I'd have a ton of footage to post here. As it is, I do not know if any pictures from our time at Dorney Park, circa 1969, have survived. I have one snapshot taken by the park photographer on August 12, 2001 showing my late-wife, our daughter, my son-in-law and myself. Long live those memories.

  • @TralfazConstruction Man, That is some ride that you went on. Maybe someday that Cedar Fair should have a museum called "The Dorney Park Museum" and show all of these wonderful Band White photos, history of the park (I already know that it's online), and the former coasters and theme park moments of the past and the present. I also liked how you mother encourages you to go on a coaster like Hercules. Good memories to have.

  • @SuperFlashDriver @SuperFlashDriver : Yes, Hercules had a very jarring ride. I dealt with that by wedging myself to restrict movement and holding-on for the thrill. My late-Mother instilled a love of coasters in me. We first rode the original (I can almost recall the name) under Alfundo's gaze in '65 or '66. I still love that coaster.

  • In August of 2001 we went for the last time. We were walking with my daughter and her husband near where the swan-boats once glided silently upon the lake. A little boy of seven or eight came up to me and told me solemnly: "There was a lake here". I wondered how he knew. It was as though my youthful self was reminding me that I had come full-circle. A lifetime of memories triangulated by; Dorney Park.
