The New Orleans' Rebirth Brass Band's " Do whatcha wanna" is a hit with bands all over the nation. This is an honor and a tribute to Rebirth and the city of New Orleans to have their music played by bands from coast to coast. I'm happy to see Mobile use N.O. music to spice-up and liven-up their celebrations.

Just as we in Mobile are so glad to know that some of our little customs caught on in New Orleans, such us parades, floats, flambeaux, and Mardi Gras kings and queens. ; )

For the sake of argument, let's say all of that is true, then why does NEW ORLEANS still have the most popular and universally recognized Mardi Gras in the U. S.? Why does Mardi Gras celebrants in various U.S. cities use N.O. music and songs in their festivities ? "The proof is in the pudding", or should i say gumbo.
