sorry that is a scoop. Pause it at 15 seconds. The club head is already past his left arm.

flip of the wrist at impact.......... trying to help the ball up, also comes from not getting the weight posted to the front leg and u try to catch up with the club head to the ball by scooping or flippind at the ball.....is scooping

clubhead passes the wrisis and does not maintain the a frame thru impact...

looks to me like a full right hand release through the ball, i dont see any scooping, maybe my eyes are bad.

if john was playing today with that swing and the all the fitness programs to help build more speed he would be a fixture on the leaderboards.

He's playing one appropriate shot given the club and the lie. I agree, it's kinda scoopy, but he's hitting of a manicured surface, in practice none the less. Watch his wedge play, he takes a nice divot when he needs to. I would only be guessing that he didn't limit himself to only thinning it, or only compressing it. Regardless, that tempo is obviously PGA pro level. :)

Sorry to sound like an idiot guys - what is a scoop and what is a sweep? For which irons, long/short is a scoop or a sweep acceptable and recommended? Thanks for your help
